Re-Tech X was a winner
Can you believe it? We’ve made it to 10 editions of the Re-Tech meet up. What started as a little idea a few years back has turned into an ever-growing events series all around the country. And we are here for it!
For Re-Tech X, we returned to our home base in Bristol. The weather gods smiled kindly upon us and we were treated to some glorious early summer golden hour hues.
What went down
While we were in our home city, we were kindly hosted at a brand new venue. The good people at Arup laid on the red carpet and invited us to the roof top bar in their brand new offices in the EQ building in the centre of Bristol.
As ever, here at Re-Tech we like to bring new voices to the stage, and this time we definitely fulfilled the brief.
Opening the evening, we had Iain Dinwoodie from KUDO software. Iain shared a tale of his journey with a start-up and the challenges of balancing pace versus technical aspects in a world of MVPs and the desire to build something the industry truly needs.
Our middle speaker was Rosheena Jugdhurry from Arup, who reflected on her own personal career journey from nightshift in the tunnels of South Wales through to helping lead the charge for Arup in offshore wind. It was an inspiring story punctuated by more than a few laughs on the way.
Our final speaker was, Alex Chickhani who gave us a tour de force in all things sustainable aviation fuels and a vision for the future of commercial air travel. (If you are in that world and do not know Alex, we highly recommend you look him up).
A FABULOUS EVENING
Re-Tech X really hit all the high notes. The speakers did their thing, the venue was fab and the guests enjoyed their evening. A massive thanks to Arup for their support and for topping up the tab on the bar to keep things flowing. And yes, once again for a few of us it was a late one.
WHAT NEXT?
Re-Tech XI is now go! We will be taking Re-Tech to Southampton for the first time on 10 September 2025. If you’re local, why not come along and get involved!
